Flash Experiments

There were many trials and tribulations along the way!

Activity 4.3

This was my first attempt at Flash animation - file size 18Kb

This works fine in a web page and doesn't loop. But I have to get my key frames and timings right, it goes awfully slowly in the middle!

Activity 4.4

First I decided to rework my animated Haiku GIF, using Fireworks. I took some new photos of roses in our garden - autumn is coming so they are looking a bit sad. The file size was 117Kb.

Following this, my first effort at a flash haiku was 272kB - essentially because it was a series of bitmaps and didn't have any common elements or symbols. By converting bitmaps to symbols and animating in Flash, a much better effect was achieved in a smaller exported file, ending up with just 90Kb: Link to my final Flash Haiku movie
