Haiku Movie, created using Flash. File size is 90Kb. The sound isn't brilliant (was fine in WavePad and became crummy after compression by Flash) - but it is audible.
Converted all the images to symbols and used separate layers for background, 3 text lines and 5 images - 9 in all plus separate voice and music tracks. I started trying to import the gif but found it easiest to build from scratch again. Tweened for fades in and out and movement.
Music from 'Al's Piano' (Mozart)
I started by importing the animated GIF from assignment 2 but realised that the file size would be too big, as it was a series of separate bitmaps. Eventually the best result was obtained by building the file from scratch again, using photos taken of roses in our garden and optimised using Photoshop Elements. I learned more about tweening and reducing file size by saving images as symbols, then using them in different instances on the stage (the two rosebuds use the same library element). I also learned to be careful when tweening and rotating, as an earlier version had a rosebud moving through an alarming edge-on state!
WavePad was used to record the voice over and integrate it with the music, which was then imported as one file into Flash. I found that the best way to fine tune the alignment of audio and visual was by adjusting the frame rate. The sound quality deteriorated on the final export which may be due to double compression.
If starting this activity over, I would import a better quality sound file and use Flash settings for the audio compression.
