Red Centre Images , created using Flash. File size is 345Kb. I'm afraid I didn't learn from my mistakes in the music box exercise and allowed myself to get carried away with the design again before sorting out the buttons and actions! Haven't had time to sort out the sound problems and wasted a lot of time trying to get this to work properly. If redoing the exercise I would use a separate sound movie (as suggested in the course materials) to avoid the 'doubling up' of the music. It can however be turned off using the 'on, off' music button at bottom right.
I learned how to include a simple preloader as a separate scene in the movie (scene 1). This gives a % indicator of progress in loading. It's quite necessary as the file is big and would take a while to download for someone on a dial up connection.
I found out how to use a motion tween using a curved guide and rotating images into place. At first I tried to put all the images on the same layer but found you can only have one guide per layer so kept them all separate. I had a lot of fun creating the footprint image using Fireworks, then resizing and rotating it and converting to symbols for the separate prints. I actually doubled one up by mistake so it takes a little longer to fade out, but it's not very noticeable. I also learned a lot more about creating buttons and adding actions and rollover effects.
I chose the Jokerman font as I thought it suitable for the subject and downloaded a sound clip from Flash Kit for the music: Eth 0066 by Sound Dimension, of intermedia Design Graphics, Toronto, Canada. The sound loop is freely available for non-commercial purposes. Searched for the company on Google to add to list of references but could not find it.
